芝加哥大學Dr. Gary Burget為蕭彥彰醫師的老師。今年11月12-18日來臺擔任整形外科客座教授。在長庚醫院整形外科系進行特別演講，題目為：鼻整形手術的藝術原則 (Artistic Principles and Technique for Surgical Reconstruction of the Nose)。此外也在台灣整形外科醫學會年會進行特別演講，對象為所有台灣的整形外科醫師，講題為：鼻整形三重要技巧 (Three Artistic Techniques for Aesthetic Reconstruction of the Nose) 。於11/13,11/14於林口長庚開刀房進行示範手術 (Demo Surgery)指導如何進行鼻整形與鼻重建手術，同時指導本院的醫師羣及外國的Fellow，進行學術上的交流。討論鼻美容手術的美容概念。鼻部病患的鼻部缺損，具有不同程度的多樣性及複雜性。清楚了解鼻部重建的基本原則，並依據原則來調整及修正處理各式各樣的鼻部缺損，以期達到最佳的重建結果。藉由大師的講解，讓醫師在這一領域有更精進的瞭解。並於會後進行討論，讓主治醫師和住院醫師提出問題並進行交流。與會後Dr. Burget 特別和他的關門學生蕭彥彰醫師進行病患討論。在看過蕭醫師完美的手術成果後，留下了他的留言：

其中的一句話： I think you will take us to new levels in plastic surgery （我想你將帶領我們到達一個新的整形外科境界 ）。這是對蕭彥彰醫師目前的手術成就的最大鼓勵與稱讚。

蕭彥彰醫師應邀參加2013年9月27,28日的第三屆長庚美容醫學會，參與人數約300名整形外科醫師。蕭醫師在鼻整形美容的演講時間中，發表了世界級創新獨特研發的Chimeric autologous costal cartilage graft (內嵌式自體肋軟骨移植)用來預防自體肋軟骨可能發生的彎曲情況（Ｗapring)。三年內蕭醫師共執行了31名病患，採用蕭醫師獨發的Chimeric 肋軟骨移植。在平均15個月的追蹤期間，沒有肋軟骨移植發生彎曲的情況。（一般世界的發生率約為1% ~5%,有些報告更到達50%)。大大提升了肋骨軟骨移植在鼻整形、隆鼻及鼻重建應用的安全性和成果。
